A Blogger’s Voice-A-Thought

I’ve written about this subject before and the matter is still a boil on my butt.

I love America, I wouldn’t want to live any where else but here. I’ve lived in different countries but there’s no place like the good old USA.

Still, my love for my country doesn’t cloud facts of its past.

This is a country of Immigrants. If your mother’s-mother-mother’s many mothers [or father too] doesn’t have a drop of First Nations blood or Original People’s blood or Native blood, or Indigenous blood, [you get the picture], then you are from a lineage of  immigrants.

You’re an Immigrant, you-are-an-immigrant.

I don’t care if your folks floated over on the Mayflower.  Or waltzed through the gates Ellis Island. Or were brought over in chains on the Henrietta Marie, they were immigrants coming to land stolen or in the process of being stolen by the American government.

I bet if you were to talk to the Cherokees, the Chickasaws, the Creek, the Seminoles, the Apache, the Sioux, the Comanche, the Arapaho and any other First Nation descendant, they’d probably say that their ancestors or elders believe America is illegal too.

To bad we can’t talk to any one from the First Nations that were completely exterminated. Oh yes! America did commit genocide.

As a matter of fact many don’t recognize the American government. Why should they? Many of them believe America is the land of  “Broken Treaties”

The American Indian war is still being fought in the court rooms [the Black Hills of ND, most of Connecticut to name a few].

Let’s not forget Wounded Knee. There’s still a prisoner of War being held.  No President since 1974 will grant Leonard Peltier amnesty.

So, here we are in 2009 and immigrants are still calling other immigrants illegal.

Get over yourselves, you’re legalized squatters who wanted a better way of life.  So do the people you tend to call illegal.

[If you don’t want people coming over to America, petition the government to shut the doors to ALL immigrants.  That means say NO to those  coming from England, Germany, Sweden, The Middle East,  China, Africa, EVERYONE.

Don’t just close the borders to those with a little color to their skin, no you don’t want to do that. You want to be an Equal Opportunity Border Closer]

Remember, there are those of us who have ancestors that would probably think you’re illegal too.

So, Pot — stop calling the Kettle black.
